Kindy caters for skiers kids
With the closure of ' Turoa Skifield's mountain creche, children will be catered for by the Ohakune Kindergarten. The kindergarten intends to operate a drop-in creche weekends and school holidays including mid-term break, within the hours of 8.30 and 5pm, catering for a maximum of 20 children. Those intending to utilise the facility are urged to book ahead to avoid disappointment. Two qualified staff members and helpers will ensure the Ohakunebased creche operates smoothly and efficiently. Supervisor Odette Dashfield, a qualified kindergarten teacher from Auckland is joined by local supervisor Shirley Pepene and trainee Leigh Brannigan. Costs are $6 per hour per child, or $40 per day. Casual users, including local people are encouraged to take advantage of the facility. Snacks and drinks are
included in the rate, while parents are asked to supply children with a nourishing lunch.
Raffle tickets for two 1993 Turoa Skifield season passes go on sale shortly, the proceeds to
go towards the extension of the kindergarten' s existing verandah to create an outdoor covered play
area, and repainting of the building. The creche begins operations with the opening of Turoa Skifield in mid-July. |
