It was a magical night for the 350 party-goers who attended the recent 1993 Fashion Parade at the Hot Lava Nightclub in Ohakune. The club was transformed into 'The Enchanted Forest', complete with magical trees and creatures for the evening. Overseeing the proceedings was the Ice Queen, sitting stoically on a throne of icicles. The stunning decoration
was testimony to many hours work by Rangataua School committee and pupils. Around two and a half thousand dollars was raised with the proceeds going towards the installation of a community adventure play ground at Rangataua School. Fashions were provided by Jean City and Promenade Clothing, with a special section featuring the season's ski fashions supplied by
the Junction Ski Shop. The fashions were offset by a range of stunning masks and capes borrowed from the musical stage play, the Phantom of the Opera especially for the evening. Another feature of the evening was a spectacular performance by the Ruapehu College Maori Culture Group The return tickets for two to Fiji were won by Agnes and Charles Mareikura.
