Coliege Soccer On Saturday 8 May the Ruapehu Coliege 1st eleven travelled to Wanganui's Wembley Park for their second match of the youth league, this time playing East Athletic Tigers. From the start both sides seemed evenly matched. . It took 20 minutes before Athletic went one goal up. Continued pressure from the Ruapehu side was rewarded with a goal by Nilesh Sharma following a good penetrating ball from his brother Avi, giving a 1-1 half-time score. An early goal in the second half to Tigers seemed to throw the Coliege side. They had plenty of chances, but a very strong Athletic keeper stopped them scoring. Athletic went on to score two further goals before Ruapehu scored their second, late in the match. The final score was 4-2. Ruapehu's next game will be at Ohakune against Collegiate juniors on 29 May. They are currently fund-raising for their travel expenses and would appreciate any jobs they could do. They also have sheep manure on sale at $2 a large sack or $20 per trailer. Any help with either of these please contact team captain Avinesh Sharma 3859249.
