Ohakune Scouts were unperturbed when heavy rain threatened to put a damper on their Easter weekend camp - what better weather to establish a water adventure camp? With canoes on loan from Ruapehu College, inflatable rafts on loan from the Bulls Scout Group and a plentiful rainfall, the stage was set for an exciting weekend at Robert Baddley's Parapara farm. The tents, including two new additions (see front page story last week), were set up during a fine break in the weather and if the intention was to give them their trial by rainfall, then they pasSed with flying colours. Several Falcons are having their first competition including George, Brad, Krystal and Carolyn. The highlight may be Scott Nation's first tournament in the open grade. The public are welcome to come along for all or part of the day. There is no entry fee and the local gymnasts would like some hometown support.
