Included in this programme are parts of the Whanganui National Park, plus scenic reserves and conservation stewardship lands in the Kirikau/Te Maire, Retaruke/ Kaitieke and Mangatiti/ Ruatiti areas. Hunting will concentrate on goat populations. However domestic stock encountered in these areas after 1 0 May 1 993 may be destroyed, sold or otherwise disposed of as per Section 96 (2) Reserves Act, Section 36 (3) Conservation Act and Section 62 (3) National Parks Act.
