Ameku Road walk-way is to receive more attention, following a meeting of the Raetihi Promotions Group last week. The Raetihi Promotions Group held its monthly meeting on Monday 19 April at 8pm at the Raetihi Information Centre. The Ameku Road Walk-way was discussed and it was agreed to ask Craig Ryland with the
help of John Dobson to erect more signs as it was brought to the attention of the Promotions Group that there are insufficient signs at present. The continuation of the Ameku Road Walkway is a track to Pipipi Trig which is unmarked and difficult to find therefore it has been proposed that the track be re-made and well signed to allow for easy walking. The group plan to have a map drawn of the
Ameku Road walk-way which is to be gazetted as part of the 'Walk-ways of New Zealand'. Ahother proposed addition to the walk-way is a track leading off to One Tree Hill (as it is known to locals). Demolition A tender has been put in for the demolition of the old blue building in Seddon Street, Raetihi and there was a lengthy discussion on possible altematives for the space
it will create. The group made no decision at the meeting on what it proposes for the site. Also discussed at the ,meeting was the painting project put into action by the Raetihi Promotions Group and all present at the meeting .agreed that the face-lift of the Raetihi Branch of the Bank of New Zealand was a definite improvement. The meeting concluded at 9.40pm.
