Quiz night

The annual Wanganui Motors Turoa Tumblers Quiz Night is on again, this Friday 23 April, at Turoa Lodge in Ohakune. As in previous years the quiz is the major fundraising event for the club so organisers are

hopeful of a turnout to rival last year's 32 teams. A new feature this year is a "Face the Music" type question, where teams listen to a piece of music for approximately 25 seconds then are asked to guess the artist and the name of the song, for a point. Other categories include local, sporting and general knowledge questions. The quiz starts at 7.30pm with the bar opening half an hour earlier if teams require some brain starting. Entry forms are available at Ohakune New World and an early indication of numbers is appreciated to make catering of the evening's supper easier. Supper takes place halfway through the evening to fuel flagging grey matter. Good prizes, and some booby prizes are up for grabs. The only question left is: will the local fire brigade teams continue their impressive climb up the finishing order that saw them in the top half last year.
