Motocross action on Sunday

Moto-Cross action returns to the Ruapehu District on Sunday 18 April with the running of the third round of the W anganui Club Championship at Colin Fredericksens' property at Horopito, hosted by members of the Ruapehu Motorcycle Club. Previous events held at Rangataua have proved popular with both riders and spectators. The Horopito Track differs from natural

rolling terrain tracks in that it is comprised of man-made jumps, doublejumps, berms and a tabletop jump. This gives riders the opportunity to thrill on-lookers with skilful riding techniques and dare-devil jumping action. As it is a round of the Wanganui Club Championship, many of the racers attracted to the event are regular competitors at Regional and

National Moto-Cross and Enduro events. Local riders are encouraged to attend and can choose to ride in either A or B Grade. The fifth round is to be held at Waiouru on 30 May. If we can generate enough local interest from both riders and spectators then the Wanganui Motorcycle Club is keen to hold three rounds of its championship in our Region next year.
