A charge against Glenn William Hennessey, 26, unemployed of Glen Dene of failing to provide information in his possession which might have led to the identification and apprehension of a driver of a motor vehicle on 30 October last year was adjourned to 18 March for formal proof. Reparation order Kelvin Patrick Edmonds, 20, unemployed of Raetihi, appeared for sentence on a charge of stealing and using four cheques in order to obtain a pecuniary advantage for himself. He had earlier pleaded guilty to stealing the cheques from a person he knew and using them to purchase goods locally which, according to

' Judge Watson, meant that defendant's eventual apprehension and arrest was "inevitable". As a first offender Edmonds was ordered to make reparation of $450 at the rate of $10 per week. Remand without plea Patrick Penata Condon, 40, shed hand of Raetihi, was remanded without plea to appear on 18 March on a charge of assaulting a female, Hinewai Brider, on 26 December. Arrest warrants Four warrants for arrest were issued for nonpayment of fines. A total of 10 names had originally been ' called to answer the charges of non-payment of Court-imposed fines but, by the end of the , day, six people had appeared and had made suitable arrangements. Those who did not were: Julian Araitanga, 21, of Raetihi ($950); Maureen Lillian Arbon, Ohakune, ($420); Damien Brider, Raetihi, ($255) and Warwick Burling, 45, Ohakune, ($185).
