The City dailies and weeklies are all very well for those who wish to keep posted upon afffairs of State and of the world. But does not a comparatively trifling event in our own neighbourhood loom much larger in our eyes than the downfall of a nation on the other side of the world? The local newspaper that gives all the news of its own T own and District - all the doings of its people and the happenings - is therefore the Newspaper that holds first place in the regard of all who take a healthy interest in their surroundings. Whether in business in the town or on the land, or in camp, it is of the utmost importance to have a knowledge of what is going on. There is no issue of the smallest journal published in the most remote locality that does not present an opportuntiy for somebody. The secret of succes is to be alive to, and ready to seize, the opportunities at hand. Some things never change! The Ruapehu Bulletin, established 1983, still doing the job!
