LETTERS
Your tum now • To all you do-good-ers, to all you people who moan because there is nothing to do in the Waimarino District, to all of you who are bored, on the dole, or unemployed, or spray-can experts, or just too lazy to do anything but leave it to someone else. Now is the time that you can do something for your District. Take a first aid course. The St John Ambulance Brigade is just about nonexistent in Waiouru, Raetihi and Ohakune, so unless you people get off your back-
sides and do something you will lose a worthwhile service that started in the District in 1937 and has done it's best for all. They don't only attend sports meetings but are often called to attend cases of sickness. Would you know what to do for heart attack, drowning, stroke, broken limbs, burns? I could go on and on but make no apologies if this letter hurts you. It is up to you. They want members not money. If you are 16 up to 60 years what about joining? There will be a public meeting in the Waiouru
Community Hall on 17 March at 7pm and a public meeting on 22 March in the Waimarino RSA Club, Raetihi at 7pm. Both meetings chaired by Garrick Workman. I did 53 years for St Johns most in this District - Now it is your turn.

Crime • I applaud Mr Workman's stand on juvenile crime as reported in last week's Bulletin. However maybe he should look at putting his own house in order first. I refer to the lavish Christmas feast and hampers provided for the Rupehu District Council
staff out of ratepayers money. Surely this equates to theft as a servant. When taken over the entire district I am sure each ratepayer wouldn't be contributing much to this cause but many ratepayers couldn't even afford Christmas dinner this year and the RDC staff are well enough paid to provide their own Christmas party! FairGo Squash thanks • I would like to make a public thank-you through your newspaper to the many people who gave assisted me in the building of the Ohakune Squash Courts. From those who have
made major donations of materials and time through to those who have simply offered verbal support and encouragement, I am truly grateful. I trust you will all take the opportunity to see \ the fine facility the town ! now has as a result of | your collective support and can feel proud to have been part of the project as I do.
