DoC takes Lakes Reserve
Lakes Reserve, near Ohakune, will be managed by the Department of Conservation in future. The Ruapehu District Council agreed to hand over control of the reserve
to DoC at their February meeting. DoC had expressed a desire to take control of the reserve due to its "historical, geological and cultural significance".
