Twilight golf

Every Wednesday evening many golfers from the area enjoy a twilight 9 holes of golf at the Alpine Village Golf Course. One recent Wednesday evening the Ohakune fire-fighters were invited and enjoyed a friendly challenge against the usual twilight players. Most of the fire-fighters were first timers and should be congratulated for good playing. Kelly Nicholson and Andrew Murdie both won their challenges and the final result was five games to two in favour of

the twilight players. Bruce Thompson scored the lowest for the firefighters and Gary Allerby for the twilight team. Other prizes went to the players with the highest score and a lollipop to a fire-fighter who was beaten by his son. A total of 55 players took part and ended with food and prizes donated by Skiers Inn Dairy! The Management of Alpine Village Golf Course hope that other organisations and businesses will use the facilities for similar events.
