Valuations

Three-yearly property valuations have started for the Ruapehu District. Valuation New Zealand staff are currently reviewing values in the north of the district and will move into the Waimarino soon, said the managing district valuer, Mark Johannsen. Urban areas will be revalued later in the year. "In the Northem wards indications are that fattening units will show an

average 50 per cent capital value increase with grazing units showing 30 per cent and small holdings an average 27 per cent capital value increase," said Mr Johannsen. Revised values come into effect on 1 October 1993. All departmental valuers carry an identification card with a photograph, which is displayed.
