Arrests

Last Thursday four people were arrested for various burglaries that occurred in the last three weeks. An Ohakune male was remanded in custody and a 17-year-old female, an 18-year-old male and a 17-year-old male will appear in court next month on charges related to burglaries at: the Raetihi Anglican Vicarage, a Lakes Road house, a Tainui Street Ohakune House and the Turoa Ski Resort flats near Rangataua Road. Police have recovered some of the property stolen in the burglaries, but still missing is a quantity of personal jewellery belonging to the Waimarino vicar's wife. Police said this jewellery was of great sentimental value and they would like to be able to retum it to the owner.
