The Ulysses Bike Run, which is raising funds for the Waimarino Rest Home in conjunction with the Raetihi 100 Centenary, is being held on Saturday 23 and 24 January. The bikers assemble at 12.30 near the Ohakune Post Office and depart shortly after for the ride into Raetihi. An official maori welcome will then take place on the Marae at Raetihi and not at the Makotuku Bridge as earlier planned. After welcome speeches, the riders will ride up Seddon Street at about 1.30- 1.45pm and around the block before returning to be parked in Waimarino Auto's garage where the big Harley Davidsons and Hondas will be available for the public to view at the cost of $2 per person or $5 per family. This viewing is only available up to 4pm. Another welcome takes place at the Waimarino Hall at 4pm followed by a haangi evening meal at 6pm which the Marae will cook. The meal will cost $8 and there will be a limited number available to the public for the same Turn to page 3
