Waimarino ponyclub riders selected
Three Waimarino Pony Club riders gained selection to the King Country Area Dressage Team for the New Zealand Pony Club Zone 2 Dressage final to be held in Taumarunui in April. The Area dressage championships were held at Owhango Domain on Sunday 10 January and 13 riders competed for a place in the King Country team. Other riders from Taumarunui and
Waimarino also competed on the day. Kushla Edgarton (Raetihi Branch) riding Bolero and Victoria Duigan (Ohakune Branch) riding Clover Crest Magic Man are Junior members of the team and Cindy Langdon (Raetihi Branch) riding Alcazar a senior member. Marni McGregor (Raetihi Branch) riding Sharebroker is the reserve for the Juniors.
The results were as follows: Event 1 - 1st Shelly Gotlieb on Hobo, 2nd Bridget Plowman on Little Lucifer, 3rd Hannah Lord on Cream Cracker and 4th Nicola Smith on Sergeant Major. Event 2 12 years and under championship - 1st Bridget Plowman, 2nd Shelly Gotlieb, 3rd Nicola Smith and 4th Hannah Lord. Event 3 - 1st Christine Reynolds on My Warrior, 2nd Bernice
Frost on Talisman, 3rd Victoria Duigan on Clover Crest Magic Man and 4th Kerrie Stratford on Da Ja Vue. Event 4 - lst Christine Reynolds, 2nd Cindy Langdon on Alcazar, 3rd Stazirae Davey on Money Talk and 4th Chanelle Davey on Statesman. Event 5 senior championship - lst Cindy Langdon, 2nd Chanelle Davey and 3rd Leah Amold on Marceau Heights. Event 6 junior
championship - lst Stazirae Davey, 2nd Kushla Edgarton on Bolero, 3rd Victoria Duigan and 4th Marni McGregor on Sharebroker. On 25 and 26 of January five Waimarino riders will be competing in the Olympian North Island Pony Club Show Jumping Championships at Cambridge. Cindy Langdon,
Natasha Richards, Victoria Duigan, Sally Williams and Marni McGregor are the Club representatives and were selected over two days of show jumping trials prior to Christmas. They will travel to Cambridge on Sunday 24 and each rider will compete in five FEI events in their appropriate age groups. This is the second year the Waimarino Club has sent a team to this event.
