• Police arrested a 38-year-old male on 2 January for attempting to produce opium, after the theft of poppy plants from Ohakune gardens was reported on 30 December. • On 31 December windows were smashed at Dekker Machinery and the Ruapehu District Council service centre in Raetihi. • A bicycle was stolen from a Raetihi address on New Year's Day, and later recovered some distance away. • A house in Islington Stret, Raetihi was burgled between 1 & 4 January and a small amount of cash taken. • On 8 January the Ohakune-Karioi Rugby Club was burgled and a small amount of liquor taken. • On 9 January a chalet in the Turoa Alpine Village was burgled. • A 22-year-old male was arrested for theft and wilful damage on 24 December. • A 40-year-old male was arrested for assault of a female on 26 December and on 31 December. • On 31 December a 37-year-old female was I arrested for assault with intent to injure.
