Wall-to-wall people packed out the Raetihi Cosmopolitan Club to see who was to be chosen Miss Raetihi 1992 op Saturday. If the success of the Raetihi pageant is anytKing to go by, beauty is back in fashion, with a total of 75 entrants vying for the Miss Raetihi and Junior Miss Raetihi titles. Trudy Taura, sponsored by McLean's Bookshop as Miss Lotto, was crowned Miss Personality, as well as Miss Raetihi. Estelle Jenkins, Miss Ohakune Shoes, was run-ner-up to Miss Raetihi and Miss Panache was Olive Prince, sponsored as Miss Starline Service Station. Twenty babies entered the baby show, with Tiriki Temai first boy with Terrance Richards second. Lara Kumeroa was the best baby girl with runnerup Kate Brennan. The Bulletin is unable to provide photos because organisers altered the timing of the event.
