Choral singers to return

The acclaimed Sing Aotearoa Festival is to return to Ohakune in 1993. The festival, which was first held in 1990, provides an opportunity for both established and emerging New Zealand talent to present as high a standard of performance as possible. Participants in the 1993 festival, to be held at Labour Weekend, will be able to attend a number of daytime performances as well as a lineup of workshops, led by a number of well-known New Zealand writers, composers and musicians.

Plans for the event include the introduction of dance and movement, a women's leadership component, and a choral composer's hui and music trade fair in conjunction with a New Zealand writer's forum at which myth and storytelling will feature. The Sing Aotearoa programming team is currently looking for talent, and any dedicated groups that would like to be considered as part of the official performance programme are invited to contact the Sing Aotearoa Festival, P.O. Box 6474, Auckland 1.
