Candles & carols
"It's like a dream come true" said Molly Sommerville of Raetihi. "I've always wished we could have carols by candlelight for the whole town, but I felt that Raetihi couldn't have an outside venue because of the uncertain weather, but being able to have it in
the Raetihi school hall means it can be planned ahead, despite the weather." A Raetihi community choir has been formed and has been practising for the last six weeks to lead the carol singing and to sing three special car-
ols at the event to be held next week. "It's surprising the talent around Raetihi and Ohakune," said Merilyn Feickert, who is organising the choir. There are several community groups taking part and the guides and brownies have been
practising their song with the help of their leaders. "It only remains for the community to turn , out and enjoy the dry 1 venue for carols by candlelight," said Mrs Sommerville. Candles will be on sale at the hall.
