Whakapapa staff beat Turoa on the boarfls
The great camaraderie between Turoa and Whakapapa that has developed in recent years was cemented in place on Monday, 2 November with the second annual Fergus Taylor Trophy. The race is a friendly competition between the staff of Whakapapa and
Turoa although the racing was competitive the underlying friendships were very evident. The best crash of the day went to Rob Sutherland with a spectacular cart-wheeling face plant. The best recovery of the day went to Annie
Bradding who's skiing, for part of the course, resembled a series of linked survival techniques. In the overall result Whakapapa 's top 20 skiers narrowly beat Turoa's top 20, so Whakapapa retains the Fergus Taylor trophy.
