Rodeo success for Raetihi rider

by David of the RIC A recent tour of South Island rodeos has seen good results for Raetihi rider Craig Wiggins, with a second placing in steer riding to his credit. Sponsored by Starline Service Station, Craig travelled with seven other competitiors to two of the major rodeos in the Canterbury region, Methven and Winchester, where Craig saw 'The best Steers and Broncos in New Zealand' and competed against top riders from the whole coun-

try. Competing in the second division, Craig received second place for the steer riding event and reached a third place in the challenging saddle bronco event at Winchester. His performance at the Methven events earned him another third in the saddle bronco and a hard-won fifth in the bull ride. Craig was pleased with his placings and is grateful for the time off work he has been allowed to train for this very physi-. cal sport.
