Bridge
Regular visitors from the far north, Lloyd and Arlene Purdie, joined a small group of locals for bridge on Wednesday 28 October. Lloyd and Arlene sat north-south on table four and at the end of play reckoned, with the lack of cards they got, they may as well have stayed home. Bob Tumataroa and his partner who sat north-south on table two
totally agreed and after the way Bob played he too wished he had stayed home. However good cards or bad someone had to come first and this week in the
north-south direction it was Tracy Ennis and Les Burns with 59.12% with the Purdies in second with 54.17%. In the east-west direction the best performers
were Pauline Le Noel and Tephany Bennett with the nights top score of 64.75% and in second place with a score of 60.18% Bill Te Karu and Jenny Mottram.
