A week for job seekers

This week is 'Job Seeker Week' being promoted by the New Zealand Employment Service. The promotion is part ■ of a nation-wide drive by the New Zealand Employment Service to publicise the range of

services it provides for job seekers. "Our aim over the week is to increase the awareness of the wide range of services and support programmes that we offer both Job Seekers and Employers," says Gary Steed, employment advisor who services the Waimarino area. "We have programmes available to help improve people's job search skills, motivate them and provide real work experience as well as placing people directly into work," he says. As part of 'Job Seeker Week' staff from New Zealand Employment Service will be active in the Waimarino on 3

November talking to job seekers about the full range of services on offer. A team of employment advisors will also be actively campaigning in the Waimarino area

targetting employers and touting for business to assist local unemployed as well as school leavers and tertiary students who will shortly be hitting the streets.
