Another competitor zooms through the 'slalom' course at Turoa's Small World Cup ski race on Saturday. The event was held to give children a taste of ski racing without putting the emphasis on winning. This was the first time the event had been held and Turoa was lucky enough to get perfect weather on the day. A mock slalom course was set up on the Wintergarden area but there was no set order of flags the children had to ski around, in fact some daredeviis sped through the course without a single turn! Every one of the 25 under eight year olds got a ribbon and a prize for competing in the event.
