Fires

On Saturday moming 3 October at 5.45am the Ohakune Volunteer Fire Brigade responded to a motor vehicle accident on the corner of Mangawhero Terrace and Martin Place. A Falcon ute had left the road smashing through the gardens of two properties before becoming implanted in the porch of a house. One person suffered minor injuries. Two fire appliances and the rescue vehicle attended. The Ohakune Brigade attended five calls last month; one wood-shed fire, one petrol spillage, one false alarm, one motor vehicle accident and one vat fire. The Raetihi Brigade attended three calls last month; one motor vehicle accident and two chimney fires.
