Lamination service at Berry's
Protecting valuable printed or graphic material is now possible right here in the Waimarino, without having to wait days sending the material out of town. Berry's Bookshop in Goldfinch Street, Ohakune have installed a new laminating machine, capable of laminating paper or card up to 790mm wide (large poster size). Laminating has become a popular way to protect anything from colour photocopies to menus, calendars to school projects, certificates to signage for shops. Heat and pressure in the machine adhere a thin layer of plastic film to both sides of the article being laminated, sealing it inside a plastic coating. "It is a very simple and inexpensive way of dramatically enhancing and protecting all forms
of printed material," said saies representative Sue McCully, from Jenrite Industries - the New Zealand company which make the machines. Smart presentation is one of the major benefits of the system, said Peter Berry, of Benys Bookshop. "It can transform any graphic or written material into a presentation that looks expensive. Laminated articles are hardly ever thrown away quickly." Other advantages are: Lamination dramatically enhances the visual appeal of printed material. The clear layer of film creates an optical effect similar to glass. Durability. Because the process traps the material under film both sides are protected from water, dirt, mould or mildew plus most chemicals. It has an
easy wipe, easy clean surface that stands up to frequent handling. Rigidity. It provides strength and rigidity to improve handling properties. It will not suffer 'dog ealing7, scuffing and general wear and tear for a considerable period of time. Lamination has a unique "write and wipe" capability that makes it useful for price ticketing, plans schedules etc. Mr Berry said the service at Berry' s Bookshop would be offered at competitive rates, especially considering the courier or transport costs to out-of-town services. He said initially the service would be same day (or quicker) for smaller sized articles with larger items Protect your precious printed pieces with Peter's Pressed Plastic!
