Members of the public are entitled to take part in this process. KCE is seeking, and will encourage, the widest possible involvement by the public. Undertheprovisionsofthe Energy Companies Act, King Country Electric Power Board trading as King Country Energy is required to publish proposals on ownership. The proposals are set out in a draft establishment plan. The Act provides for public consultation on these proposals and for directors to take public comment into account in formulating_aJinalj>lan which is to be submitted to the Minister of EnergyToT^ approval. The Act requires the final plan to be submitted by 31 December 1992. Those persons making written submissions by 12 November 1992 will have a reasonable opportunity to present these in person, if they so wish. The Directors intend to establish a time and place for the hearing of submissions and will notify persons accordingly. Copies of the draft establishment plan and the accompanying information memorandum will be placed in public libraries and KCE offices in Taumarunui, Turangi and Ohakune.
