A Warrant Officer was acquitted on seven charges of common assault at a court martial held in Waiouru last week. The charges were laid after he allegedly slapped civilian staff on the buttocks in seven separate incidents. In summing up
Capt Harvey, the counsel for the defence, told the court there had been no malice or sexual innuendo in the actions. He said the accused had used a pat on the bottom as a form of encouragement and that he was unaware of the feelings of the complainants at the time.
