Having been involved in the tourist industry for over 10 years I realise the well-known facts that tourism is one of the NZ's fastest growing industries with a large potentiai to create jobs. With two National Parks on our doorstep we are well placed to capitalise on this growth. From my practical experience I know there is far too much obstructive bureaucracy restricting the industry. Pianning and rules are necessary but they shouid be fast tracked. We have to create that environment that is going to assist and help ali business to grow and create jobs. If elected to councii I wiil strongiy support Council's initiatives in helping and promoting tourism. Winston Oliver. Candidate: Ruapehu District Councii Waimarino Community Board.
