Regional council candidate

Dave Griffiths, regional councii candidate Following approaches by local electors, Waimarino sheep and cattle farmer Dave Griffiths (43) is standing for the Ruapehu District Councii seat on the Manawatu Wanganui Regional Councii. Dave was born and raised in

Auckland, graduated B.AG.Sc from Massey University in 1972 and has actively farmed the 980ha 'Highfields' property north of Horopito since 1977. He is married with three children, all attending Raetihi Primary School. Dave was a councillor on the Waimarino County from 1986 until

the formation of ihe Waimarino District Councii in 1988, where he was chairman of the Noxious Plants, Hydatids and Pinus contorta co-or-dinating committees until the advent of the Ruapehu District Councii in 1989. Dave has shown himself to be capable of strong representation and offers himself as a

candidate having youth with experience and a positive commitment to the well-being and expansion of the region. He believes areas such as the Waimarino must put forward and support local candidates for the now expanded local bodies, or stand the chance of being disadvantaged in the decision making process.
