Art and Craft Society
Capture the 'Rangataua Pet' in your own favourite media in time for another exhibition next spring is the challenge from the Waimarino Art and Craft Society following their 'Housewarming' three-day show over the last weekend in August. The Society's new track-side venue at Ohakune junction buzzed with animated conversation as crafts-persons reunited following a break of several years to exchange news and ideas. The high standard of exhibits, their wide variety, some from as far afield as T aumarunui, combined with a very supportive membership and public, resulted in a smooth-running hospitable and financially successful event. Brisk enrolment of new members to contribute further skills encourages the Society to believe there is a need to make the exhibition an annual event. The committee would like to thank MTRO members for their help in making the exhibition possible.
