Badminton
On Monday evening Taumarunui invited several local clubs to an over 30's social evening of badminton. Players were combined at random with game scores for each individual recorded. At the end of each match players drew from a deck of cards and depending on the colour you either added or subtracted from your score . This gave all players an equal chance of winning a prize no matter what their grading. Brent Palmer of Waiouru gathered most points during the evening and took first prize. Gloria Carswell won the ladies sections and with a little luck from the cards, Marie
Cranston won second place. Many thanks to Denis Carswell for organising the evening and a special thanks also to Tohe and Ka for entertaining us at supper with their guitars, helping to make it a very successful night.
