Games move again

Manukau City is to host the third New Zealand Winter Games - without snow. After a disappointing start in Ohakune in 1991, the games were moved to Taumarunui, for 1992. Ohakune supporters of the games had tried to work out a management structure with the game's franchise holders, Andreas and Yvonrie Hefti, which would lead to more community support for the games. It was after these negotiations failed that the Hefti's decided to take the games to Taumarunui.
