RAL gives ski pass
Ruapehu Alpine Liffts General Manager Dave Mazey hands over a Whakapapa season pass to Jane Solly who won the pass in a raffle run by the Whakapapa Gym Club. Mrs Solly and her husband John manage the Whakapapa Holiday Park. It was John who bought the tickets but two weeks ago he snapped his achilles tendon while playing indoor soccer and his leg could be in plaster for another six weeks so, by default, Jane gets the pass. RAL donated the pass plus $500 to help train gym coaches. Gym Club president Chrissy Simmen said they raised $1092 from the raffle which would pay for badly needed equipment. RAL are also allowing the gym club to hold a sausage sizzle on the ski field during the school holidays to raise more funds. By Marnie Woodd
