Ice rink knockers knocked

Rink needed • We are half-way through the 1992 ski season which has unfortunately been marred by bad weather. There is nothing that can be done about the weather, but if we wish to be known as an interesting town and don't want tourist dollars going elsewhere Ohakune must address the problem of alternative activities for closed days and for people who do not wish to ski. The idea of a closed in, all weather skating rink (or whatever other attraction) must be seriously and quickly considered and ways and means found to finance these ideas. It is always easy to think of reasons not to attempt any project. If the guys who built the mountain road had listened to knockers who said it couldn't be done there wouldn't even be a skifield !
