Snowbound stock campaign stopped

Local Federated Farmers representative Alf Alabaster said with feed reserves down south now adequate, the donated feed was not needed. The campaign saw 4000 bales of hay pledged to help the farmers, plus a 'reasonable sum of money'. Local carriers had also offered to help with free cartage. Any enquiries about the campaign can be directed to Mr Alabaster. Badminton Two teams from Wanganui travelled to Ohakune on Sunday 16 August , despite the miserable weather conditions. Games were all hard fought. Teams from Wanganui were Masters and YMCA who played Ohakune 1 and Ohakune 2, A reserve teams. The games and indeed all the Badminton played on the day was excellent, the only down-fall of the day was that the Parapara Highway was closed by the time games were finished, and the visiting teams faced a drive home the long way. Both Ohakune teams were successful in their rounds. Next round of games, A reserve 23 August to play Waiouru.
