Community college co ordinates meet
Rural Education Coordinators for Wanganui Regional Community Polytechnic (WRCP) gathered last week to share ideas and plans. Heads of the different schools within the Polytechnic each spoke to the assembled coordinators about the courses that WRCP can offer its rural students. Topics discussed included farm forestry seminars, welding courses, graphic design, a travelling computer bus, cocktail making and wine service. Coordinators were encouraged to take away the details on courses they felt would be successful in their own areas. There was also a presentation by Cynthia Takarangi, WRCP coordinator for The Open Polytechnic of New Zealand. TOPNZ offers over 700 correspondence courses. Rural coordinaShop day
