Art Meeting
The decision to set the weekend of 29, 30 and 31 August as exhibition dates was the main outcome of Waimarino Art and Craft Society's meeting held recently. The importance of an advertising campaign was stressed to encourage the whole of the district, not just former exhibitors, and A & P Show entrants to participate. Newcomers, unemployed persons and especially mothers with young children will be provided with an opportunity to test the market for their handcraft and art skills.
Scheduled working meets were arranged for 1 1 and 25 August, when potential sellers and exhibitors are invited to drop in around noon at the society's rooms at the former Works and Ways Foreman's Office, 200 metres down track from Ohakune Railway Station, to discuss space requirements and collect further information. Anglican church-goers present pledged further practical support for the St John's Church roof appeal and wished the Reverend Bernard Cox, at present in Wanganui Base Hospital a speedy return to health and strength.
