Mr X and I started our night out by having pre dinner drinks in the Summit Bar at the Ohakune Hotel, and then moving into their newly renovated dining room for dinner. Mr X started off with Pea & Ham soup and garlic bread, which was thick and filled with pieces of ham. I chose to wait for entrees which arrived soon after, mine being spring rolls off the Chinese menu, which were 4 medium size spring rolls served on a bed of lettuce and a sweet and sour sauce accompanied them. Mr X had chargrilled Camembert with bananas which was served with a side salad, being a cheese lover it was well enjoyed. Shortly after our mains

arrived, mine being chicken breasts stuffed with apricot and Camembert, which was served with salad. Mr X had Venison back steak with apricot sauce and salad which he throughly enjoyed. By this time we were both feeling rather full but the desert menu tempted us both and we decided to share a Death by Chocolate desert, which is chocolate cake served warm with chocolate sauce and whip cream - yum! It was accompanied by icecream, passionfruit and slices of oranges. All courses were well presented and delicious. The friendly staff in the restaurant made our night most enjoyable.
