Aracadian to perform

The Arcadian Singers will perform a series of concerts next month, which will include shows in Ohakune and T aihape. Ohakune's performance will be at St Joseph's Church at 8pm on Friday 7 August. The concert will begin with an anthem, 'How

Lovely are thy Dwellings Fair' by Brahms and the 'Peasant Cantata' by Bach. This is described as "Bach in merry mood", and will feature soloists from the Arcadians and also dancers. Music from America features in the second half of the programme,

including spirituals 'Steal Away', 'Kum Bayah' and 'Shennandoah' and old favourites 'Streets of Laredo', 'Moon River' and 'You'll Never Walk Alone' which should appeal to everyone. The conductor will be Coreen Gray from Tauranga, with accompanist Helen Gordon.
