Ohakune badminton

Turangi Visit Members from the Turangi Badminton club came over to Ohakune for a fun and friendly night of Badminton on Monday 20 July. There were 14 members from Turangi who arrived to play We at Ohakune would like to thankyou all for making the effort regardless of the weather conditions. It was a most enjoyable night. Thanks to the Ohakune club members for support and patience on the night. Marie Cranston, thanks for organising Turangi's trip

over. We at the club all appreciate the efforts you made at getting a visiting team here. The raffle on the night was won by a Turangi member. Next round of Interclub games 2 August for A Reserve. Wanganui Tournament Wanganui A reserve C and D Grades, tournament was held in Wanganui on 26 July. It was a very long and tiring day for all who braved the roads and travelled through to Wanganui. There were a

lot of entries in all grades which saw the day stretch out and made the games that were played come few and far between. The games started at 9am and finished at 10pm. There were a lot of very tired people from Ohakune and Waiouru walking and sometimes dragging themselves around the Gym. Thanks go to the those who took cars and braved the Parapara Highway. There were good numbers of entrants from both Ohakune and Waiouru.

A Reserve; Kay Young, Jocelyn Cranston, Lois Lind, Elayne Weller, Jenny Finlay-Ives, Kenneth Young, Ned Wanoa, Brent Palmer, Merv Fielding, Vaughan Becker. D Grade; Eileen Voon, Megan Lind, Sarah Lind, Donna Cranston, Cathy-Anne Cranston, Tanya Shields, Lindsay Cast, Andre Moore, Daniel Shields, Nigel Shields. Thanks to every-one from Ohakune and Waiouru for lasting the day. It was an early start for every-one and a late finish.
