Two Territorial Force (TF) soldiers are setting up a library and archives at Tactical (Tac) School in Waiouru. They are sorting, compiling and filing items such as New Zealand and foreign doctrinal books, slides, maps and viewfoils. There are also Tac School records such as course results, essays, and TEWT (Tactical Exercise Without Troops) solutions.
Both the TF soldiers are from Wanganui. Private (Pte) Rachel Hirini has been attached to RF there and has been stock-taking and filing at Tac School. Pte Shane Howe is looking for a permanent position involving computers and says the time in Waiouru is good experience for him. His job has been to catalogue codes for books etc and put the list onto computer. . The paper list and the
bulk of the organising was done over six weeks by Lieutenant Frank Webb from Force Intelligence Group. Once the computer list is finished it will enable archive users to locate the item they require quickly. Pte Howe expects to be at Tac School "until the job is finished" and the School's Chief Instructor Major Barry Vryenhoek, says that the library will be complete when the School is able to purchase the appro-
priate database software package. Fire Report BY HEATHER MUNN On Friday night a north-bound car on State Highway 49 between Waiouru and Ohakune skidded and overturned opposite the Forestry Headquarters. The two occupants escaped with minor injuries. Emergency services from both Ohakune and Waiouru attended the accident.
