Dangerous intersection
Traffic safety at the Irirangi turn-off from State Highway One is to be investigated by Works Consultancy Services following concerns expressed by the Waiouru Community Board and the District Council Roading Engineer. "This corner has always been dangerous and
caused fatalities," said Bob Vine, Waiouru Community Board representative. "With the widening of the highway traffic speed on SH1 has increased and the corner has become even more dangerous." Works Consultancy Services will report back to the Board and the Roading Engineer.
