Art soon

Artists who live anywhere between Levin and Hamilton are invited to enter their work in the annual Ohakune Art Award Exhibition. This exhibition has grown steadily from its inception in 1978 and attracts

many artists of established reputation. Thanks to generous private sponsorship, there are substantial prize monies for each award. In addition to the premier award of $2,000, there is now an open class catering for works in all media, with an award of $1,500 to be allocated at the judge's discretion. An award for the best entry from a permanent resident of the Waimarino District, the Barnes Young Artist Award and the Life Study Award, are also included. The exhibition will once again be held in the Ohakune Primary School Hall.
