Jerusalem care centre support
The Tamaupoko Trust has expressed its support in principle to the establishment of a youth care centre at Jerusalem, on the Whanganui River. The Tamaupoko represents the Maori people of the middle reaches of the Whanganui River. Trust representative Matiu Mareikura said the aim of the centre was to cater for 14-16 year olds with social problems. The idea of the centre is being looked at by the Ngati Hau Trust.
