Karioi log exports start

A new rail siding has been built at Karioi for loading export Winstone Forests logs. An official opening was held 29 June for the siding, which marks a new venture for Winstone Pulp International. eleven wagon loads of logs a day will

be shipped out via the siding to Port of Napier. Building the siding followed negotiations with New Zealand Rail over carting the logs, and building the siding. NZ Rail will also continue to ship about nine wagon loads of pulp from Karioi.
