Soapy soup?

Here's a story borrowed from the Karioi News (thanks again Sue!). Mill worker Don Robinson took his son & daughter-in-law to dinner recently, a la Chinese. Some time after ordering their dishes, bowls of liquid appeared for each of them and wise Dad Don told his guests this was for washing the fingers between courses. After a lovely meal the diners discovered they had been washing their fingers in soup all evening.
