Carrot winners
Shane Littlewood's carrot cake won the carrot festival recipe competition on Saturday, 'because it had the most taste of any dish', according to judge Brian Dowsett. He judged Elwyn Costello's carrot and
prune cake second; Karen Cranston's carrot muffins third; and Geoffrey Clark's marmalade fourth. Other entries included carrot pate, jams and relishes. There were almost 20 entries in the competition.
